A Crazy but Productive Off Season

Knoxville Raceway regular, Mike Deavers, is hoping to make 2008 a year to remember. The team has been working very hard this off season preparing their new J&J sprinter for its debut on April 19th at Knoxville Raceway. “This off season has proven to be a crazy but productive one” said Deavers. “I have taken on a new venture that involves fabrication work in order to help offset some of the high costs associated with fielding a competitive race team. This has obviously meant less time in the race shop, but we will be ready to go come April.”

Fielding a competitive car puts a huge financial strain on any race team, especially an owner/driver team such as Deavers. In 2007, Deavers partnered with WinkDog Motorsports in efforts to market the race team and match them with the right corporate sponsor to help alleviate some of that strain. “WinkDog was instrumental in pairing us up with CoLiant Solutions for the 2007 Knoxville Nationals. It’s comforting for an owner/driver such as myself to know that I can focus on what I do best, race. Special thanks goes out to Steve, Jeremy and Pat for their fine efforts.” Deavers Racing has renewed their association with WinkDog for 2008 and is looking forward to an exciting season.

The 2008 schedule for Deavers Racing will consist of a full season at Knoxville Raceway, including the 2008 Knoxville Nationals. The team will also be traveling to select “World of Outlaw” shows in Illinois and Missouri.

Deavers Racing would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our current sponsors for their support over the years: J&J Auto Racing – Automotive Machine Racing Engines – Ken Perry Excavating – Gilmore Construction - Advance Auto Parts of Normal, Illinois – KDL Machining.
